Ten Bells Concert

The Church of St Peter and St Paul, Broadwell GL7 3QS

THE TEN BELLS OF BROADWELL

Sunday 6th November 2022, 5-6.30

The Ten Bells concert took place on the 6th November. With dualling violinists, trombone, piano and song, the concert celebrated a Journey through the History of the Bells (1349 – 2019): Life, Wars and a Glorious Trombone Bell Celebration of the Two Newest Bells. With the Jubilate Choir perfoming songs and chants through the ages, together with some story telling, the whole perfromance was supported by the ringing of the bells. Ding Dong!

Reviews from the Ten Bells Concert:

Thank you for a most entertaining and enlightening evening. As well as enjoying the extraordinary variety and range of the music, linking each bell to its historical context and learning about the involvement in Broadwell of the Order of St John"

You created something very unique yesterday.   It's all hanging in my mind like a strange but beautiful dream.  I loved hearing the bells too, and repeatedly, with Peter telling us which was which - appreciating their different voices.”

I thought the concert was great! Informative and thought provoking, yet fun and friendly. I hope it was well received.  I'm partial to something a bit different/unpredictable personally, so enjoyed it very much. In particular, I loved the variety of music and instruments, including the bells.”
