Fathers' Day Conert - 18th June 2023

Fathers' Day Concert
For this concert, we had a ceebration of Fathers, Sons and some of their Daughters! With the talents of Peter and Kate playing 4-handed piano pieces, battling for position of the keys and the pedals, the perfomances were both exciting and entertaining.

As well as the duelling pianos, we had songs performed by Annabel and some Father/Son history shared by Paul.

One other treat was the singing of one of Hilaire Belloc's Cautionary Verses was performed by Annabel - Rebecca, Who slammed doors for fun and perished miserably  (Lisa Lehman,1862-1918)

 

The Performers for the Fathers' Day concert were:

Katharine Durran (piano) is known for her versatile, virtuosic and visionary piano playing, but she also has a broader musical life as conductor, educator, choir director and cross-arts project curator. 

Peter Cowdrey’s projects include reconstructing Mlada, a composite opera by Cui, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and Borodin; composing a childrens' choir piece based on a dialogue between a horse and a greyhound; and expanding the work of his charity Planet Birdsong in the UK and Africa.
