As a Team Leader within the RAF's Mountain Rescue Service where he was actively involved with over 400 operational rescues.
The evening was well supported, with 40 people hearing Al's story of daring-do. Al entertained and horrified us in equal measure as we heard how tragedy so neary struck and Al had to make the heart-wrenching call to abandon the attempt just 4 days from their goal. The audience were enthralled and there were many questions after the talk.
