This is a PDF document on Dog Walking and Footpaths ~ a brief overview of where you can walk in the countryside, and of how the Countryside Code applies to walkers, and dog walking.
Maps here taken from https://footpathmaps.com/, the home of the free online Ordnance Survey map showing UK public footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways and other rights of way; for walking, cycling, and outdoor activities. This map covers Broadwell, there is a larger map covering most of our Benefice in the PDF above.
Why the footpathmaps.com link?
We are linking to this website because:
But, temporarily, we have put a portion covering Broadwell here, so you can familiarise yourselves with the local footpaths. Look out for the yellow signs indicating either Public Footpath, or D'arcy Dalton Way (a mere 66 miles for the whole route).
For example, did you know that the D'arcy Dalton Way here in Broadwell passes through the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul's Church? Did you know that footpaths are minimally one and a half metres wide, and bridleways are minimally two metres wide? (... not a lot of people know that ...)
